Your Journey Briefing
A quick hello from me.
Â
Here you can gently explore what the Journey looks like from the inside and the different levels of support available so you can see whether this feels like the right next step for you.
A Gentle Welcome
If youâre here, itâs because you want to understand how the 7 Step Journey works - and what kind of support might feel right for you.
Â
This page gives you a calm, clear overview of the Journey, so you can make a grounded, confident decision at your own pace.
Â
Thereâs no pressure.
Â
Just clarity, understanding, and choice.
Why the Journey Works
Most people who arrive here have lived through the same cycle:
Â
- a burst of motivation
- a big clearâout
- a temporary sense of relief
- âŚfollowed by the clutter âgrowing backâ
Â
Not because youâre lazy.
Â
Not because youâre disorganised.
Â
But because clutter is emotional - and habits, beliefs, and patterns take time to change.
Â
The Journey works because it doesnât start with the stuff.
Â
It starts with you - your patterns, your history, your overwhelm, your resistance, and the reasons clutter has been so hard for you.
Â
Itâs gentle.
Â
Itâs structured.
Â
And itâs designed to help you feel safe, steady, and in control.
A Real Experience of What Makes This Hard
Hearing from someone who felt stuck for years can help you feel less alone.
Â
Most people who arrive at the Journey have tried to clear their clutter many times before.
Â
Theyâve read books, watched videos, followed tips, and pushed themselves to âjust get on with itâ - and still found themselves stuck.
Â
Theresa shares her experience of why clearing on her own didnât work, and what she realised about the deeper patterns that were getting in the way.
Â
Her story is gentle, honest, and very typical of what many people discover when they begin the Journey.
Â
Itâs never about willpower.
Â
Itâs never about trying harder.
Â
Itâs about understanding whatâs been happening beneath the surface.
What Makes This Different
This isn't:
Â
- a blitz
Â
- a weekend makeover
Â
- or someone coming into your home to "fix" things for you
Â
The Journey is a proven, stepâbyâstep method created from lived experience - the exact process Clare used to clear her own clutter over 25 years ago.
Â
Itâs:
- emotionally safe
Â
- predictable
Â
- designed for real life
Â
- built around small, steady steps
Â
- supportive without pressure
Â
- flexible enough for fullâtime work, health challenges, or low energy
Â
You simply watch the videos in order, follow the steps, and build confidence slowly and steadily.
The 7 Steps - A Simple Overview
Â
Step 1 - Understanding
Â
Find out why clutter has been so hard for you, why past attempts havenât worked, and how to work with your brain instead of against it.
Â
No letting go yet.
Â
This step is about clarity, safety, and setting you up for gentle progress in Step 2.
Â
Step 2 - Accumulation
Â
You'll start getting in a routine that stops the clutter growing back.
Â
You'll also begin gently letting go of the lighter, less emotionally triggering things (email, computer, and paperwork clutter)
Â
- a routine that continues throughout the rest of Journey.  Â
Â
Step 3Â -Â Decision Making
Â
As part of your regular routine, Step 3 focuses on learning the tools that help you make balanced, realistic decisions
Â
- preparing you to feel confident and ready to succeed in Step 4: Mount Everest.Â
Â
Step 4 - Mount Everest
Â
Youâll add a weekly big and bulky backlog clutterâclearing session to your routine, working on your most visible clutterÂ
Â
- starting in the smallest, leastâcluttered area or room so you can succeed and not get overwhelmed.
Â
During Step 4, youâll clear your two smallest, least-cluttered areas or roomsÂ
Â
- one on the âclimbâ and one on the âdescentâ -
Â
giving you steady, achievable goals to focus on, and crucially, significant successes before you move on to Step 5.
Â
Just like your routine email, computer, and paperwork sessions, youâll continue your big and bulky backlog sessions for the rest of your Journey (saving the biggest, most cluttered area or room for Step 7).
Â
Step 5 - Sentimental
Â
Alongside your routine sessions, you'll discover how to honour the memories and emotions of your most meaningful belongings without drowning in emotion or guilt.
Â
You'll learn the unique Clutter Clearing Method we use to make decisions about sentimental belongings, and how to make this a fun and creative element of the Journey
Â
- something you'll begin to build into your routine for the rest of your Journey.
Â
Step 6 - OrganisationÂ
Â
By this point, you'll have at least three clutter-free areas or rooms in your home, so now it's time to learn how to organise your home.
Â
You'll work out how you need your home to be organised in a way that it works for you, and build systems and routines that support the progress youâve already made
Â
- enabling you to live your vision of your clutter-free best life at the end of your Journey.
Â
Step 7 - Control
Â
On the final step, you'll bring your knowledge, experience and successes together to clear your final, biggest, most cluttered area or room
Â
- and ensure you have the habits you need stay clutterâfree forever beyond the Journey.
Â
Then...
Â
You Graduate.
How the Journey Works
The Journey is built around neuroscience and emotional safety.
Â
You âdo the doingâ by watching your Journey videos for:
Â
- up to 2 hours a day
Â
- 5 days a week
Â
- during Clutter Clearing Terms (5 consecutive weeks)
Â
Why?
Â
Because your brain can only make good decisions for about two hours before it becomes overwhelmed or reactive.
Â
What is a Clutter Clearing Week?
Â
Each of the 7 Steps of the Journey has a clear focus for learning and actionÂ
Â
- such as understanding, accumulation, or decision making -
Â
and the Weeks simply break that Step into manageable, bitesize pieces.
Â
Each Step of the Journey contains eleven Clutter Clearing Weeks, and a Clutter Clearing Week is simply a group of videos that belong together.
Â
Each Week is further broken down into five Clutter Clearing Daysâ worth of videos to help manage the overwhelm.
Â
Most videos are no more than five minutes long.
Â
A Clutter Clearing Week isnât a calendar week, and thereâs no expectation to complete it within seven days.
Â
Itâs simply a clear marker of progress so you always know where you are and what comes next.
Â
Consistency beats intensity.
Â
Small steps beat big pushes.
Â
Rest is part of the process.
Â
The Journey follows a predictable termâtime routine, with regular rest periods
Â
- so you never burn out and you always know whatâs coming next.
Typical Timelines
Everyone starts from a different place -
Â
...with different levels of clutter, different causes behind it, different levels of support, different life pressures, and different experiences of resistance or impatience.
Â
Although it varies widely, most people take several years - often three or more - to complete their Journey.
Â
Itâs similar to any partâtime course:
when youâre learning something new in small, steady weekly blocks, it naturally takes time.
Â
Your pace will depend on:
- how consistently you build your weekly routine
- how much support you choose (Private, Group, or DIY)
- your life circumstances
- your support network
- your resistance, impatience, or wobble once you begin
- your willingness to get extra support when you need it
 Â
These timescales often surprise peopleÂ
Â
- until they realise that the Journey is a longâterm, supported process.
Â
With the routines inside the Journey, and any extra emotional support you choose outside it (including therapy), you move through it steadily
Â
- and crucially, in a oneâway direction.
Â
Unlike the cycle of blitzes you may have been stuck in, this approach means you never have to deal with your clutter in this way again.
Â
Itâs more like a partâtime course -
Â
something you progress through step by step, with the right support at the right time.Â
Â
Just as you might study a few hours a day over several years to gain a qualification, youâre learning new skills, new habits, and new emotional patterns that last a lifetime.
Â
The difference in timescales isnât about ability or effort.
Â
It simply reflects how much support, structure, and accountability each path provides.
Is the Journey For You?
The Journey is likely a good fit if you:
Â
- want to clear your clutter - foreverÂ
Â
- feel overwhelmed, stuck, ashamed, or exhaustedÂ
Â
- want to break the cycle youâve been trapped in - the one that hasnât enabled you to clear your clutter
Â
- want a gentle, structured path
Â
- want to understand why clutter has been so hard for you
Â
- want to learn the skills and routines that keep you clutterâfree
Â
- prefer slow, steady progress
Â
- want support that feels emotionally safe
Â
- want a path that works even with fullâtime work, health challenges, or low energy
Â
- want to follow the same path Clare used to successfully clear her own clutter forever.
 Â
If youâre nodding along to even a few of these, the Journey may feel like home.
How to Begin
There are three gentle ways to start.
Â
Each one gives you a soft, safe way to explore whether the Journey feels right for you.
Â
DIY Journey
Â
For people who want to work independently -
Â
and who feel confident they can get their routine of consistently making time to âDo the Doingâ in place without external accountability.
Â
Best for those who can protect their time boundaries on their own, stay consistent with the daily routines, and have appropriate support in place for when the learning on Step 1 becomes uncomfortable or challenging.
Â
A good fit if you prefer to begin gently
Â
Many people start with DIY for lots of understandable reasonsÂ
Â
- including believing itâs the most practical option, a sensible starting point, or a chance to get familiar with how the Journey works.
Â
And when they notice theyâre finding it harder to make progress on their own, they often choose to upgrade for the extra structure, support, resources and accountability.
Â
Group Journey
Â
For people who want structure, accountability, and community supportÂ
Â
- and who find it easier to protect their time boundaries when they have a regular appointment to âDo the Doingâ.
Â
Group members also have the option of a short weekly checkâin with me during Wednesday Surgery if they'd like any extra advice or guidance.
Â
Private Journey
For people who want a dedicated space and time for personalised guidance and oneâtoâone supportÂ
Â
- with clear weekly goals to ensure steady progress, stronger accountability, and tailored advice.
Â
Itâs ideal if group session times donât work for them, they work fullâtime, or they need support protecting their time boundaries.
 Â
Â
Thereâs no pressure.
Â
No long-term commitment.
Â
Just a gentle way to begin and see whether the Journey feels like home.
Â
DIY Journey
Â
Begin independently, at your own pace.
Â
Perfect if you prefer to work quietly on your own, following the full 7 Step Journey structure with no scheduled sessions.
Â
You can start immediately and explore whether the Journey feels like home.
Â
Â
Group Journey
Â
Begin with a 5âWeek Trial Term.
Â
Ideal if you want structure, accountability, and gentle, LIVE support from others on the same path.
Â
What you get access to now:Â
Â
The Journey videos and the online Community.
Â
What you get access to next term:Â
Â
Youâll join other Group Journey members for 5 consecutive weeks, with three LIVE sessions each weekÂ
- on Monday, Wednesday and FridayÂ
- to help you build momentum and see real progress.
Â
Depending on when you join, you may wait up to 6-7 weeks before your live sessions begin.
Â
At the end of the 5 weeks, you can choose whether to continueÂ
- thereâs no longâterm commitment.
Â
A small, supportive group
Â
Youâll be joining a group with experienced Journey members and a maximum of 4 new people each term, so everyone receives the support they need to succeed.
