About Clutter Clearing...

Clutter Clearing has been helping clutterholics and hoarders around the world WITHOUT the need for a home visit since 2001.

Clutter Clearing was set up in 2001 by Clare Baker, a former clutterholic and borderline hoarder after she discovered HOW to clear your clutter without the need for anyone to come to your home to 'help' you.

Clare has clients and members in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

Clare has been featured on BBC Breakfast TV, BBC South Today TV, on numerous BBC Radio stations, in Good Housekeeping, Harpers and Queen, Prima Magazine, Women and Home, The Daily Telegraph, The Financial Times, Saga Magazine, Housing Today and many more magazines and newspapers.

Through her online Clutter College, Clare provides all the knowledge, information and support you need to succeed with your Clutter Clearing without the need for an expensive home visit.

Clare can give you the weekly support you need to succeed either as part of a group or privately on a 1-2-1 basis, the knowledge you need to understand so you know WHY you struggle with your clutter through her workshops, and the experience of HOW to successfully clear your clutter with her short courses and LIVE classes.

If you are serious about becoming completely clutter free forever, Clare's part-time 7 Step Journey Course will takes you on the same 7 Step Journey that she discovered and started back in 2000 to successfully clear her own clutter.

If you're ready to stop struggling and start succeeding with your Clutter Clearing, then visit Clare's Help Centre to find out what help would suit you and your circumstances.

Private Journey Membership

A quick hello from me

If you would like to experience what it's like to have one‑to‑one support - tailored to your pace and your capacity, with personalised guidance, structure, and accountability - you can explore that here.

A Gentle Welcome

If you’re here, it’s because you want to understand what Private Journey Membership is, how it works, and whether it feels like the right place for you to begin.

This page gives you a calm, clear overview so you can make a grounded, confident decision.

There’s no pressure.

Just clarity, understanding, and choice.

What Private Journey Membership Is

Private Journey Membership is the most supported way to work through your Journey.

You’ll work directly with Clare in regular 1‑to‑1 sessions designed to help you:

  • build a steady routine

  • stay connected to your Journey videos

  • make consistent progress

  • stay grounded when the learning feels uncomfortable

  • keep going even when motivation dips

You choose whether you’d like 1, 2, or 3 private sessions a week, depending on what feels right for your life and your routines.

Because Clare works closely with each Private Member, only a small number of spaces open each term.

This is a premium, limited‑availability service.

How Private Sessions Work

Each Private Session is a 3‑hour block.

These sessions will give you structure, accountability, and space to “do the doing” in a calm, manageable way.

Part 1 - The First Call

(30-45 minutes)

You and Clare meet on Zoom to:

  • look at how you got on since the previous week

  • talk through anything that came up

  • get focused and ready to begin

  • feel grounded, focused, and clear about what to do first

Part 2 - “Doing the Doing” of working on your Journey videos

(up to 2 hours)

You go off and work through your Journey videos.

You continue from wherever you left off last time, so there’s no decision‑making pressure about where to begin.

You follow the 30:10:2 rule, which keeps everything manageable and ensures you don't get overwhelmed:

  • watch and follow your Journey videos for a maximum of 30 minutes - stopping as soon as you start to feel overwhelmed. If that’s after one video, or after 10 or 15 minutes, that’s OK. We need this to feel safe.

  • take a minimum 10‑minute break

  • repeat this pattern

  • for a maximum of 2 hours

This structure protects your decision‑making, reduces overwhelm, and keeps the work steady and sustainable.

You’re not applying the learning alone - Clare guides you on how to apply each part of the Journey to your own home and your own circumstances.

Part 3 - The Second Call

(30 minutes)

You meet again on Zoom to:

  • talk about how you got on

  •  clarify anything that felt confusing

  •  stay steady if anything felt uncomfortable

  •  set small, manageable goals for the week ahead

This is the “teacher‑effect” -

gentle accountability that helps you keep going.

Why Some People Choose 2 or 3 Sessions a Week When They Start

Some Private Members begin with two or three sessions a week because:

  • it helps them build a routine more quickly

  • it reduces the wobble between sessions

  • it keeps the Journey steady during Step 1

  • it gives them more support while they’re learning how to “do the doing”

You can adjust the number of sessions as your confidence grows.

A Real Experience of the Private Journey

Sometimes it helps to hear from someone who has already walked this path.

Here, Marnie shares what the Private Journey has been like for her - in her own words, at her own pace.

Her experience is simply one example.

Your situation will be different, and that’s completely okay.

Pricing

Your monthly membership fee depends on how many Private Sessions you have each week during term time.

Private Journey Membership begins with a five‑week Private Trial Term.

The Trial Term is:

  • ÂŁ495
  • $620

If you continue after your Trial Term, your monthly membership fee depends on how many Private Sessions you have each week during term time.

1 session a week during term time:

  • ÂŁ695 per month
  • $850 per month

2 sessions a week during term time

  • ÂŁ1,150 per month
  • $1,350 per month

3 sessions a week during term time

  • ÂŁ1,550 per month
  • $1,850 per month

Private Journey Membership is a Monthly Membership.

It gives you access to the online Journey videos, the VIP Circle, and includes ready‑made toolkits that are sent out at the appropriate time so you don’t get overwhelmed.

Your monthly membership reflects the annual cost of providing Private Journey Membership throughout the year.

Spreading the cost across the year means your fee stays the same each month, which can make it easier to plan and budget.

It does not change month‑to‑month based on the number of Private Sessions in that specific calendar month.

This means your fee stays the same during the two weeks of holiday between terms, and in December when there are three weeks of holiday.

If you need to cancel or move a Private Session, less than 72 hours’ notice means the session is forfeited.

With more than 72 hours’ notice, we will move it to a week within the same term where you can have two Private Sessions instead of one.

Sessions cannot be carried over more than once.

There’s no pressure to continue after your Trial Term.

You’ll only continue if the pace and steadiness feel right for you.

Typical Timelines

It’s similar to any part‑time course...

...when you’re learning something new in small, steady weekly blocks, it naturally takes time.

Although it varies widely, most people take several years - often three or more - to complete their Journey.

What matters most is having a consistent weekly appointment that helps you keep making progress over the long term.

Your pace will depend on:

  • how many Private sessions you choose each week

  • your life circumstances

  • your routines

  • your support network

This is normal.

Your clutter didn’t appear in a weekend

- and you won’t clear it in one either.

What Makes the Private Journey Different

Private Journey Membership is the most supported way to work through your Journey.

You have my undivided attention during your Private sessions, my full focus, and the benefit of my 25 years of experience helping people make steady, sustainable progress with their clutter.

Private Journey Membership is designed for people who want a level of support that simply isn’t possible in a group setting. In Private, you receive:

  • direct access to me during your sessions, with time dedicated entirely to you

  • email support between your sessions, with a reply from me within 24 hours (1 working day)

  • tailored guidance based on your specific patterns, pace, and circumstances

  • a weekly appointment that’s set at a time that works for you, so you can build a steady routine that fits your real life

  • precision support when the learning feels uncomfortable or confusing

  • immediate troubleshooting during your sessions, so you don’t lose momentum

  • a calm, confidential space to talk through anything that comes up in your Journey videos

  • a faster path to clarity, because you’re not sharing time or attention with anyone else

Although it varies widely, most people take several years - often three or more - to complete their Journey.

It’s similar to any part‑time course:

when you’re learning something new in small, steady weekly blocks, it naturally takes time.

If the Journey brings up difficult feelings or memories between your sessions, your therapist (which you ideally have alongside your Journey) is your go‑to person for emotional support.

Private Journey Membership is not a 24/7 support service, and it’s important that you have therapeutic support in place for anything that needs deeper emotional processing.

Working privately means we can look closely at what’s happening for you, understand where you’re getting stuck, and decide together what to do next.

You’re not waiting for your turn, navigating group dynamics, or trying to fit your learning into a timetable that doesn’t work for you.

Every session is shaped around what you need that day.

Private Journey Membership is the place for people who want the most personalised, steady, and supported way to move through their Journey

- with my full attention, my full experience, and my full support every step of the way.

Private Journey Members typically make the most consistent progress, because the structure is designed to keep you steady, supported, and accountable.

What to Expect Emotionally and Practically

Private Journey Membership is designed to help you stay steady through:

  • the discomfort of Step 1

  • the resistance that often appears early on

  • the challenge of building a routine

  • the emotional wobble that comes with learning something new

You’re not doing this alone.

You have Clare with you every week of term - calmly, consistently, and without judgement.

Because the Journey takes several years for most people, the structure of Private Membership is designed to keep you

steady, supported, and accountable over the long term.

Therapeutic Support

How independent therapy can sit alongside your Journey, especially if you notice resistance during your Trial Term.

Private Journey Membership is not a therapeutic service, and therapy is not included in your membership fee.

If you choose to work with a therapist, this is arranged and paid for independently.

You do not need to have a therapist in place before starting your Private Trial Term.

The Trial Term can be a useful way for both of us to understand whether having therapeutic support alongside your Journey would be helpful before continuing as an ongoing Private Journey Member.

If the Journey brings up difficult feelings or memories between your sessions, your therapist - if you have one - is your go‑to person for emotional processing.

My role is to support your learning, your decision‑making, and your practical progress through the Journey videos, not to provide therapy.

How to Begin

A clear, three‑step process before joining as a Private Journey Member.

There are three simple steps before joining as a Private Journey Member.

1. Suitability Call

A calm conversation where we talk through your needs and circumstances, and I can assess whether a Private Trial Term is the right next step for you.

If the Private Journey feels like a good fit, we’ll look at whether there’s a day and time available that works for you, your schedule, and your timezone.

If not, you’re welcome to join the waiting list and you’ll be notified as soon as a suitable slot opens.

2. Private Trial Term

If it’s a good fit and a suitable weekly slot is available, I’ll invite you to begin a five‑week Private Trial Term at the start of the next term which begins on Monday 27th July 2026.

All Private Trial Terms begin at the beginning of a term so you have five consecutive weeks to start building a routine and to see and feel momentum and progress by the end of term.

3. Ongoing Private Journey Membership

If your Trial Term goes well, and the pace and steadiness are a good fit, I’ll invite you to become an ongoing Private Journey Member.

There’s no pressure at any stage

- just clarity about what’s right for you.
